I learned to make jewelry while living in Los Angeles. For inspiration, I’d purchase and dismantle vintage jewelry to recreate modern, original pieces. Eventually, people began donating cast-offs when clearing out their jewelry boxes. It steamrolled into giant bags of costume jewelry from every dead grandmother since 2010.

Admittedly, a lot of the jewelry I inherited was too ugly to wear. But I love to upcycle and repurpose, and began gluing pieces onto paintings that needed some life. Hence, a new multimedia hobby was born.

I used to sell on Etsy, until they buried those who didn’t buy ad space. Now I just sell for fun at maker’s markets and holiday booths. I have a studio in my basement, and it’s truly my happy place.
